XIII SPRING NATIONAL SHOW CONAFE 2011 with the participation of 59 farms and 194 animals

LLERA HER FARM OBTAINED THE TWO GREAT AWARDS OF THIS NATIONAL SHOW

LLERA ARIEL GOLDWYN ET, Grand Champion Cow of the Naticonal Spring Show CONAFE 2011.

Madrid, 29th March 2011.- The XIII Spring National Show CONAFE’11 of Friesian Breed took place the last Saturday 26th, March at “Jesús Collado Soto” Cattle Market in Torrelavega (Cantabria). This Show has been organized by CONAFE with the collaboration of AFCA.

 

Javier Álvarez Lastra, the International Judge for CONAFE, was in charge of judging the 194 participant animals from the different autonomous regions farms.

 

Llera Her SC farm won the titles of Grand Champion Heifer and Grand Champion Cow with the animal “Llera Adeen Gotelin” (co-owner: Alberto Medina) and “Llera Ariel Goldwyn ET” (Intermediate Champion Cow). It is the second time a farm obtains the two maximum awards at the same show being the first La Argomota farm in 1991. Llera Her SC Farm won the Champion Young Cow, Reserve Best Herd and Reserve Best Breeder.

 

Álvarez Lastra chose as Champion Heifer “Mijaqui Dorita Jasper” (owner: Cal Marquet farm and co-owner: Jaume and Quim Serrabassa). Cal Marquet obtained the award of Reserve Champion Young Cow with “Marquet Diurna Roy”.

 

“La Flor Aslin Titanic”, from La Flor farm, was the Champion Adult Cow.

 

Ganadería Diplomada Badiola, from Asturias, got the awards of the Best Herd and Best Breeder in addition to the titles of Reserve Intermediate Cow, Reserve Adult Cow and Reserve Grand Champion Cow.

 

The best Autonomous Region was Asturias followed by Cantabria.

 

The best showmen were: Germán Fernández, Miguel Expósito and Alberto Llera. All of them from Cantabria

 

The show was followed by a big crowd and finished with the awards ceremony in which Mr. Jose Carlos Vega, Conafe’s President; Mr. Germán de la Vega Afca’s President; Mr. Jesús Miguel Oria, Minister of Rural, Livestock, Fisheries and Biodiversity in the Autonomous Region of Cantabria and Mr. Ismael Esparza, Cantabria Livestock Director gave out almost 20.000 € in cash to the winners.

 

Conafe is preparing the 32º National Show in Luis Adaro Exhibition site – Asturias from 29th September until 2nd October.

  • INTERMEDIATE CHAMPION COW: LLERA ARIEL GOLDWYN ET,  LLERA HER SC (CANTABRIA).

  • RESERVE INTERMEDIATE CHAMPION COW: PACHO GOLDWYN TELVA, GANAD. DIPLOM. BADIOLA SL (ASTURIAS).

  • CHAMPION ADULT COW: LA FLOR ASLIN TITANIC, LA FLOR Y LA PONDEROSA.
